TREC is the successful recipient of a Partnerships for Health System Improvement (PHSI) grant from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research's Institute of Research. This grant also includes funding from across Canada (Alberta Innovates-Health Solutions, Manitoba Health Research Council, Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research, and the Nova Scotia Health Research Foundation). The grant is for $615,000 and will fund the Social Network Analysis project.

It was announced on July 1 that Carole Estabrooks, a professor with the Faculty of Nursing and Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Knowledge Translation, has won the CIHR Betty Havens Prize for Knowledge Translation in Aging.

TREC congratulates Lori Lamont on being the recepient of the Order of Merit from the Canadian Nurses Association for her "...significant and innovative contributions to health care and increas[ing] the status and public recognition of the nursing profession in the areas of clinical practice, education, administration and research and policy."
