SCOPE grant receives funding for 3 years from CIHR.
Adrian, Carole, and the TREC team are delighted to announce that the SCOPE grant was successful at the CIHR Project Scheme competition and received funding for 3 years.
Adrian would like to thank all those who helped in the submission process, including the investigators and knowledge users for their CVs and support letters.
We are excited that our SCOPE project is finally funded and we look forward starting the project in more regions.

TREC is currently seeking a postdoctoral fellow to play an integral role in Stream 1 of Seniors – Adding Life to Years (SALTY). The purpose of Stream 1 is to develop a set of quality measures to monitor the trajectory of modifiable symptom burden and potentially inappropriate care practices at the end of life in LTC.

I am sure you will join me in congratulation Carole for being named a Member of the Order of Canada.
The Order of Canada, one of the country’s highest civilian honours issued twice yearly, which recognizes a lifetime of outstanding achievement, dedication to the community and service to the nation. The citation about Carole was “Carole Anne Estabrooks. CM. For her contributions to translating research into health-care improvements for older Canadians.”
Birtukan Adamu who joins the TREC program today (Monday 11 July) as a Data Analyst in the Data Unit.

Birtukan holds a Master’s degree in Bio-Statistics from the University of Alberta and has several years’ experience working as a data analyst, statistics lecturer and data base manager.
