Travel Awards: Summer Program in Aging - "Physical Activity and Aging"
The CIHR Institute of Aging has partnered with Concordia University's PERFORM Centre to host an innovative five-day training program. The Summer Program in Aging (SPA) 2017 will provide graduate students and post-doctoral fellows interested in research on physical activity and aging an advanced training program that crosses disciplines, institutions and geographical boundaries physiotherapy edmonton. Trainees who are conducting, or who have an interest in learning about research in the area of physical activity and aging are encouraged to apply to this program. The Institute of Aging will provide travel support to eligible participants to SPA to travel to the 2017 Summer Program in Aging.

Catalyst Grant: Personalized Health Catalyst Grants
These catalyst grants aim to improve personalized health through three identified priority areas:
- the development of novel e-Health apps to improve patient empowerment and shared decision making;
- the development of predictive analytic models that can stratify patients by expected outcome and risk;
- and the mining of existing databases to identify sex-drug-gene interactions.

Improving Quality of Care and Quality of Life for Persons with Alzheimers Disease and Related Dementias at the End of Life (R01 & R03)
This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) invites applications that propose analysis of secondary data, to address clinical and translational gaps in the study of end-of-life care needs of people with Alzheimer's disease or related dementias (ADRD) and their families. Research projects involving secondary analysis of existing data from longitudinal cohort studies or from administrative records are particularly encouraged.

Research on Informal and Formal Caregiving for Alzheimer's Disease (R01 & R21)
This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) invites applications for basic and translational research on caregiving for individuals with Alzheimers disease (AD), at the individual, family, community, and population level. The scope of this funding opportunity includes support for applications that propose the following: interventions to reduce caregiver burden and improve patient outcomes across various settings; population- and community-based research on the scope and impact of AD caregiving; improved characterization of informal and formal caregiving and the burden of caregiving across the full spectrum of the disease, including differences amongsocioeconomic, racial/ethnic and geographic sub-populations; and research addressing the unique challenges related to the provision of advanced AD care, including disparities in access to care.

EU Joint Programming Initiative - More Years, Better Lives (JPI MYBL)
Call 2017 on "Ageing and place in a digitising world" will be launched on January 9, 2017.
This call will enable a better coordination of national, European, Canadian and Israeli R&D programmes and activities relevant to Demographic Change in order to address the most urgent and demanding challenges defined in the Strategic Research Agenda (SRA), developed under the EC funded Coordination and Support Action J-AGE II.

Active and Assisted Living (AAL) Programme
Call 2017 will be launched in February 2017. The AAL Call 2017 is part of the Active & Assisted Living (AAL) Programme that was approved in May 2014 by the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union. As part of the work-programme, the AAL Programme intends to launch in February 2017 a new Challenge-led Call for Proposals: “AAL packages/Integrated solutions”
