Invitation: Participate in HSO’s Public Review for LTC Services Standard & Share New Consultation Report
HSO’s Public Review for LTC Services Standard & Share New Consultation Report
Alongside the public review now in place for the new draft National Long-Term Care Services Standards, HSO is also releasing our What We Heard Report #2: Findings from HSO’s National LTC Standard Consultation Workbooks and Town Halls, summarizing the input from the over 1,984 individuals who participated in our Consultation Workbooks and Town Halls in Fall 2021, including around 200 residents.
The draft standard will be open for feedback from January 27th to March 27th and can be accessed here: https://healthstandards.org/public-reviews/long-term-care-services/.
The consultation report can be accessed here: https://longtermcarestandards.ca/engage. We encourage you to participate in the public review, read the report, and share both opportunities with your networks.
The feedback gathered during the public review will be reviewed, considered, and incorporated into the standard as applicable.
The results presented in the consultation report are already being used by the National Long-Term Care Services Standard Technical Committee to inform the development of the standard by helping them understand the necessary considerations and enabling factors for achieving high-quality long-term care. These findings build upon the feedback gathered from 16,093 people through our Inaugural National Survey, published in October 2021 in our What We Heard Report #1.
After participating in the public review and/or reading the report, we kindly ask that you complete a short survey to help us improve our future work: https://www.surveymonkey.ca/r/LHYWX5K.
HSO’s LTC Services standard is one of two complementary National Standards of Canada being developed to address the challenges within Canada’s LTC sector. The Canadian Standards Association (CSA Group) will be launching the public review of their respective National Standard of Canada for Operation and Infection Prevention and Control of Long-term care Homes (CSA Z8004) in early February. When their public review is launched, the draft Standard will be available here: https://publicreview.csa.ca/.
HSO and CSA Group will be hosting a joint webinar on February 17th from 12:00-1:00pm ET to discuss their draft LTC standards and respective Public Reviews. To register, see: https://peoplepowered.info/hso-and-csa-group-ltc-joint-webinar.
