The field of long-term care, ranging from nursing homes to home-based care, has been evolving in the U.S. and around the world for decades. The COVID-19 pandemic laid bare a range of deficiencies and challenges, and also illuminated strengths and innovations in care; together, they create an urgency and suggest strategies to move toward a better future.
To focus on necessary changes and potential solutions, JAMDA – the Journal of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine – is soliciting manuscripts for an upcoming special issue "Reimagining Long-Term Care" that will address a range of topics across long-term care options. It is expected that the compilation will constitute a unique and comprehensive resource for the future.
