| Research projects using CLSA dataTo date, more than 64 projects using the CLSA research platform have been approved. Several approved users have presented results based on the 20,000 CLSA participants who take part in telephone interviews. These presentations have been featured as part of CLSA Webinar Series:- In December 2016, Ann Toohey, a PhD candidate at the University of Calgary, presented Aging-in-place with pets: Is pet-ownership relevant to social participation and life satisfaction for older adults in Canada? The webinar focused on her thesis research, which includes an analysis of CLSA data as part of a case study exploring the role of community services in enhancing benefits and addressing challenges of pet ownership for seniors.
- In November 2016, Dr. Verena Menec, a professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba, and Dr. Nancy Newall, an assistant professor of psychology at the Brandon University, presented a Definitions of Social Isolation: A pilot study using CLSA Data.
- In September 2016, David Kanters, a M.Sc. candidate at McMaster University, presented his thesis project which developed a new frailty measurement tool that was created and used to evaluate the frailty of participants in the CLSA.
